Adventure is evolving for the better. What we've lived collectively over the past 18 months has reminded us that exploration doesn’t have to be stereotypically "epic" to be amazing. Another simple revelation: Every moment spent exploring is a good one, and every day is an opportunity to get outside. When we focus on the present, adventure is everywhere. It's in the journey as well as the destination. It's in the places that don't feel ostensibly "foreign," like our own countries—or even in our own backyards. This season is an invitation to practice open-mindedness and spontaneity, to relish every moment we have "away", no matter what that looks like.

Sea Kayaking gave us a way to slow down and experience every nook and cranny of the San Juans: from the seals and birds to the Madronas peeking out from hidden beaches. Our guide Corey from Shearwater Kayaking had an enthusiasm for flat water paddling that was as refreshing as the expanse of water we explored. He set the tone for our trip, inspiring all of us to soak in the experience of being right here, right now.

Washington has a diversity of landscapes we didn’t expect, but the eagles circling above must have known them all well. Exploring Moran State Park made us forget that we were on a small island. From the top of Mt. Constitution we took in the view the whole Puget Sound and said hi to Mt. Baker.
