The International Rescue Committee offers emergency aid and long-term assistance to refugees and those displaced by war, persecution, or natural disaster. The IRC has offices across the country, but we work specifically with its Salt Lake City office to support Cotopaxi’s local refugee community. With the IRC SLC, we host educational events for refugee youth, offer bridge employment through our card-writing program, and contribute to the Cotopaxi Refugee Scholarship Fund.

What is the Cotopaxi Foundation? Why did Cotopaxi launch a foundation?
The Cotopaxi Foundation is a Utah-based private 501c3 nonprofit organization. Giving is core to the Cotopaxi model. The foundation is the next step in terms of doing more good. 1% of our annual revenue goes to the Cotopaxi Foundation, which aims to boost our grantmaking, democratize our impact, and help us make a bigger difference in the communities we touch.
Is Cotopaxi changing its mission?
No. We’re still committed to helping alleviate global poverty and our grants and programs will continue to reflect that mission.
How is the foundation funded? What is the relationship between Cotopaxi and the Cotopaxi Foundation?
Cotopaxi gives 1% of revenue every year to the foundation. 100% of this corporate donation supports Cotopaxi Foundation grantees and impact programming, such as our card-writing program and Questival activations.
Will the Cotopaxi Foundation be doing any of its own programming?
While the Cotopaxi Foundation’s principal focus remains supporting leading nonprofits, we do look forward to increasing our community programs.
We will be launching some exciting new programs alongside partnerships, such as a new repairs program. We’re excited to share these developments with you!
How can I support the mission of Cotopaxi’s foundation? How will that money be used?
Donate Here All donations, including yours, will go directly to Cotopaxi partners and joint programming. Check our blog for specific examples of our programs.
